In 1981, a time when Indian food was considered very exotic, a family from the Punjab region of India opened Punjab Restaurant. Punjab has always specialised in cuisine from this Northern area. Rich tomato based curries and tandoor cooked delicacies. Punjab’s owner Tanveer, also from Punjab, started working as a waiter in 1988 and took over ownership in 1993. Originally a small suburban restaurant with plastic tablecloths, many years of careful planning and renovations have turned Punjab into a fine dining destination. The original by line of “Fine Indian Cuisine” is as relevant today as it was 40 years ago.
